Install and configure the Video Toolbox CLI to manage your projects from the terminal
The Video Toolbox CLI lets you manage your projects, generate thumbnails, create scripts, and more — all from the terminal.
Install the CLI globally using api2cli:
npx api2cli install videotoolboxOr if you have api2cli installed:
api2cli install videotoolboxvideotoolbox-cli auth login --email [email protected] --password yourpassThis creates a session token (valid 20 days). For long-lived access, use an API key instead.
API keys are valid for 1 year and ideal for automation or CI/CD:
videotoolbox-cli auth apikey create --name "my-key"videotoolbox-cli auth set vtb_your_key_hereYou can also create API keys from your profile at Account > API Keys.
Most commands require an active organization:
