Learn how to refine and iterate on generated thumbnails
After generating a thumbnail, you'll often want to refine it. Video Toolbox provides powerful editing tools to iterate on your results without starting from scratch.
These two buttons serve different purposes:
What it does: Uses the current generated image as a visual reference while keeping your prompt editable.
When to use:
Key advantage: The AI preserves the context and overall composition while refining specific details.
What it does: Generates a new thumbnail with identical generation settings (person, inspirations, images, and prompt).
When to use:
Key advantage: Quickly generates variations while keeping all parameters constant.
The most effective approach follows this cycle:
Example workflow:
Knowing when to restart saves time and prevents frustration with incremental changes to a fundamentally flawed concept.
Instead of "make it better," describe exactly what to change:
Vague: "Make the person look more excited" Specific: "Give the person a bigger smile with raised eyebrows and wider eyes"
When editing, keep references to existing elements intact:
Original: "Person with shocked expression looking at (Product Image)" Edit: "Person with excited smile (not shocked) looking at (Product Image)"
The words in parentheses remind the AI what elements should stay.
If you've edited the same thumbnail 5+ times without satisfaction, it's probably time to restart with a different concept or approach.
When you create a thumbnail you love, note down:
This knowledge helps you create similar successes faster in the future.
Edit to swap out single elements without affecting the rest:
Original prompt: "Person in office setting with (Product Image) on desk" Edit prompt: "Same office setting, but replace (Product Image) with (New Product Image)"
Use edit to fine-tune emotional impact:
Original: "Person with neutral expression" Edit: "Person with excited, energetic expression"
Adjust visual mood while keeping the core composition:
Original: "Dark, moody background" Edit: "Replace dark background with vibrant golden hour lighting"
